HOMEWORK:

(1) Do your homework on sheets of paper as you study the web pages and text material.

(2) Immediately after the First Test is due (Sept. 19) collect all your homework together and send copies of it to me either by FAX, snail mail, or as a scanned attachment on an email. (These copies will not be returned, so keep the originals.) Make sure the copies are readable.

(3) I will look over your work after the test to see how hard you have studied for the test and grade you accordingly.

Announcements for 8/22/07:

COMMUNICATION: The most important task we must accomplish here at the beginning of the course is that of communication:

(1) You must be able to access the web pages of this course. If you are reading this, you have accomplished this first task.

(2) You must be able to contact me by email. So try to send me an email immediately and see if it works.

(3) I must be able to contact you by email. If you are successful in contacting me, I will send a reply. If you get it, we have succeeded in establishing communication.

(4) You must be able to contact me by telephone. Give me a call at 361/593-2622 and let’s talk.

(5) Your coordinator must be able to fax me your tests. To demonstrate this capability, every student in the class should write up a one-page explanation of why he/she is taking the course, collect the papers together, and have your local coordinator fax me the package. My fax number is 361/593-2184.
