INFORMATIONALS
Movie: Ring of Fire
The first of three Informational Movies in which
we attempt to entertain the student with free refreshments and a movie and
to provide them with some information about the Geosciences. Typically,
these movies are shown with a question and answer session shortly
thereafter.
In the case of Ring of Fire,
this was our first attempt at such an endeavor. The results were quite
fruitful. With an attendance that filled up the room, our showing of the
Ring of Fire was an inspiration to keep up the good fight for Geosciences
Club.
Movie: McGillivray
Freeman's Coral Reef Adventure
Being our sophomore attempt to educate the public about
Geosciences, the showing of McGillivray Freeman's Coral Reef Adventure was
an overall success. The attendance was diminished because of the cold
weather and parallel events, but we still managed to garner some interest
from our community.
Movie: Shackleton's
Antarctic Adventure
Being our latest attempt at informing the public about
Geosciences, the showing of Shackleton's Antarctic Adventure was a
resounding success. The attendance at this informational movie was even
beyond that of our first attempt with Ring of Fire. As we try to get the
word out about Geosciences and foster interest, we are reaching out to
more people in our community.
